TMJ therapy, also known as TMJ physical therapy or TMJ treatment, is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD). This therapy aims to relieve pain, improve the function of the temporomandibular joint and relax the jaw muscles.

TMJ therapy is carried out by a qualified physiotherapist who specializes in treating TMJ problems. Treatment may involve various techniques including:

Manual therapy to mobilize the jaw joint and relieve tension
Exercises to strengthen and stretch the jaw muscles
Relaxation techniques to reduce stress, which can increase jaw pain
Adaptation of an individual bite splint to prevent teeth grinding
Posture and movement training to improve jaw function

Booking and costs

To book an appointment for your physiotherapy, you have two options. You can do this easily via our booking tool on our website under the “Physiotherapy general” option. Alternatively, you can also call us directly to arrange an appointment.

Please note that the costs of physiotherapy prescribed by a doctor are usually covered by your health or accident insurance. If you come to us without a doctor's referral, self-pay prices are CHF 85 for a 30-minute treatment.
